How to Use Your Anchor Text to Your Advantage

Successful Strategies Begin with the Reader
HTML and link building are hot items on everyone’s search engine optimization list, which makes anchor text absolutely sizzling. Why?
Search engines use anchor text as a key indicator of relevance, user experience, and the website’s authority in order to determine how the page is ranked. Expert Authors and webmasters looking for a quick boost may misinterpret this information by unnaturally repeating the same anchor text without considering relevance or user experience.
Whether it’s anchor text (or any other HTML items), you must first ask yourself:
Does it benefit the reader?
Everything you do or don’t do should be for your audience. Sporadically inserting bolded keywords and anchor text because you hope it will help you boost your rank is poor quality and not for the benefit of your audience. However, if you choose to use HTML to help the reader easily skim for what they need, such as bolded headers or a relevant link with natural anchor text in your Resource Box, then you’re talking natural SEO language. Always aim to benefit your audience.

In addition to benefit, relevance determines the “natural” order and “evolution” of the Internet, which makes it absolutely crucial to link building. Authenticity, quality, and transparency – whether it’s in articles, videos, products or even website navigation – will always win over cheap SEO tricks. These elements are critical to the power that relevance in the natural hands of humans can achieve. Coordinated with reader-benefited content, relevant anchor text and links will enhance your efforts.
While that’s fresh on your mind, let’s discuss anchor text more in-depth and a few best practices.
What is anchor text?
Anchor text is the link label or link title that is visible and clickable in a hyperlink.
<a target=”_new” href=”INSERT URL”>INSERT LINK TITLE</a>
For example:
<a target=”_new” href=”http://your-company-name.com/”>Your Company Name</a>
<a target=”_new” href=”http://your-company-name.com/”>http://your-company-name.com/</a>
In the examples above, “http://your-company-name.com/” and “Your Company Name” are link titles.
Should you use a URL or text for the link title in your articles?
The quick answer: one of each.
The long answer: Your readers benefit from context; a URL may not provide the transparency they require to click on a link. A descriptive text-based link title provides them the context and relevance they need to click-through. On the other hand, your articles should be ready for publishers. You may recall any links in the body of your published articles are automatically converted to “nofollow.” Hence, your self-serving links should be limited to your Resource Box so they continue to garner traffic and provide proper attribution. By using the combination of one URL link title and one text-based link title, you have prepared your article for easy syndication and you still provide relevant information that benefits readers.
For text-based link titles, what text should you use?
Here’s where it gets super complicated and where many Expert Authors get in trouble. Many expert authors will simply use keywords in the link title that are irrelevant to either the article or the linked website – sometimes even both.
Here are some anchor text best practices to bear in mind when you choose your text:
  • Relevance: Always use specific and descriptive anchor text that is relevant to the linked URL’s page.
  • Location: Place your text-based anchor before your URL anchor.
  • Distribution: Don’t use the same text over and over again, either within the same article or across multiple articles. Natural and contextual variation is essential.
  • Brand: When relevant, use keywords associated with your brand, such as your company name, website, etc.
  • Contextual: Mix in non-descriptive words, such as “Click Here,” and place these near relevant keywords.
A great indicator of whether your anchor text is working is if you see growth in the traffic to your quality website and your website experiences a lower bounce rate. This means you’ve met your primary objective: benefit the reader.

What Are Your Marketing Strategies?

nternet marketing tip is very straight-forward, what are your Marketing Strategies? I wrote a pretty long post talking about the first secret to this entire series of internet marketing.
Assuming that you have read that post, I will move on from there.
The title of the post seems so simple, "What Are Your Marketing Strategies? As you read more, finda out more about this topic, you'll find that this can be a huge topic on it's own.
Let take a step back of the big picture of how this goes.
We talk about Objective, What's your Objective?
Now, we are discussing on, What Are Your Marketing Strategies?
Next, we will be touching on, What Are Your Internet Mrketing Plans?
Most internet marketing experts would have all these 3 component in place when they launched a product, or start an internet business.
During my first year, I knew nothing of this sort, and like everyone else, I just want to see money coming in and just put together a product and started selling it.
Did my product sell? Yes! In fact, it did pretty well, that it's giving me residual income each and every month. And after 18 months now, it's still giving me constant sales...
month after month!
It was only during my 2nd year of marketing, I start to realize I'm using the entire process unconsciously.
Now that I understand this better, it's giving me a very powerful edge in any market that I'm working on or for my clients.
So, once you define your objective, you can start determine what kinds of internet marketing strategies you want to employ?
Using back the same objective last week, "I want to start making US$300 per month from the internet, using only 2 hours per day of my time, and I will do it in 6 months time, by 21th Nov 2008 "
So, what are the kinds of marketing strategies you can think of that can give you such a result?
Take a piece of blank paper, by read this post, follow this exercise.
(Do not PRE-Judge what you like or do not like, just write down all the possibilities first)
Here's some of my examples...
1) Being an affiliate selling other people's product
2) Developed my own products
3) Start an AdSense website, developed 100 in 3 months
4) Offer my skills, get freelance design project from Elance, Guru and others
5) And many others...
For now, I'll only stick to 4.
For your first marketing strategy, you can dig further into it. There are many ways to being an affiliate selling other people's product.
What are those that you can think of?
For that, let's list some examples of marketing strategies.
What are those that you can think of?
For that, let's list some examples of marketing strategies.
1) Start a simple blog and start blogging.
2) Create a landing page, drive traffic, capture leads and being an affiliate
3) Create an account in eBay and focus on eBay traffic
4) Create a Squidoo page to sell affiliate products
See! There are many ways to go about it, what are the ways you want?
And if you want, you can dig another level further into it. If you think this is clear enough, what you want is to go through the entire list again.
After you finished with the entire list, and you know there's no more other marketing strategies that you know, you can start to select.
The selection process is very important. Like most internet marketing expert, it's all about knowing yourself and making the choice that you like and suits you.
So, how do you select? You'll select based on your strengths, your passion and confidence.
Let me explain it further.
What you want is to create a simple table, like this.
So based on your strategies, put them under main and sub marketing strategies.
Then create a column for Strength, Passion and Confidence. After that, what you want is to give each one a score, as shown.
1 being the lowest, and 10 being the highest score.
Here's some questions to help you better score them.
Strength:
What are my strengths?
Are my strengths able to help me to complete this task easier?
Who else do I need help from to complete this task?
Passion:
Am I passion about doing this?
If after 6 months and I did not make a single cent from this strategy, will I still be doing it?
Confidence:
How confidence will I follow through for this entire strategy?
Do I have any knowledge or experience on this?
Do I have anyone who I can always count on to ask for advice or help?
Hope these questions will help you to score better for each one.
After you have done the scoring system, add up all the numbers and by then, I'm sure you'll know the answer yourself in your heart.
If in any case, you have a tied, then it's totally up to you to choose which one you prefer better.
Most importantly, always remember my internet marketing tip, be Focus! Since this might be your first project or business, focus on one, do it well, learn the ropes, then do more later...
With that, I wish you learn from this article and I look forward to hear any comments or feedbacks.

Things That Some Gurus Don't Tell You Before You Start

Welcome To The World Of Internet Marketing
Before you go off and buy into a guru or internet marketing system you need to think about this. There are lots of guru's, products and systems out there all promising the same thing to make you money. When we hear the sales pitch, it all sounds and looks good and everyone seems so helpful, we forget that they are there to make money as well.
No one is going to give you a Lotus for free but if they do, you still need to insure it, Tax it, M.O.T it and put Petrol in it, this is just like Internet Marketing.
If you Don't create a new email account, your existing one will become flooded by internet marketing offers, this can happen so quickly. I suggest that this is one of the first things you should do. Decide on a pen name for when you are writing articles or selling products unless you are going to use your real name. What is your business address or are you going to use your home address, work it out, write it down, so you have it to hand for when you need it.
DoN't forget, create a folder so you can keep all your internet marketing details together, all your new passwords, username, site name {site name.com} and most importantly any product you have purchased, along with when the guarantee runs out. If its not working, you don't want it. Remember you are not looking to rip anyone off, so do not let anyone rip you off.
When you are eager to start you will buy almost everything you come across. Who wants to miss out on a real chance of making money! When money or pride is involved, we can get too fixated on the wrong thing, which can make us grasp at straws, signing up for everything in sight and when this happens, it will without a doubt lead to information overload which can make you give up.
You need to Stop! That's right, stop jumping from product to product without giving enough time to see if it works or not. This is a classic mistake, often made by internet marketing newbie's. One that will insure you end up with lots of products you don't want or need.
There's always going to be Emails coming to you, telling you that xxx is the best product, never been seen before so buy now before you miss out, you have to be more selective and even blinkered in order to move forward with what ever strategy you are hooked into.
If you buy into a Guru, try and make sure that you can get your own list, domain and if possible, your own products with your name on them. This will help insure that you are building your reputation more than theirs, which will make it easier for you to make money.
Save sometime by thinking about what type of things you would like to sell/ market and take a look at what words are linked with the product. Choose one of the words or a phrase, also known as Keywords. Use this for the name for your site, also known as a domain name. Try and get one that comes with hosting. You can get free Keyword tools. Try Google KeyworTool, it's free and when it comes to hosting, do a search to see what deals are on offer.
I hope this helps you
To Your Success,

You Have MLM Leads - Now What?

You decided to become an Attraction Marketer. You found a proven Attraction Marketing System, and you have started to learn about the strategies included in it. But now you have some leads. "Hold On! I'm not ready yet!" In fact, some people will fiddle with their system forever and never deal with their leads. You're not one of those people are you?
But doesn't an Attraction Marketing System sign people up automatically? A good one will give people an easy path to check out the system, but it not designed to move everyone into your MLM opportunity. Yes, a good one will make people aware of your opportunity, and sometimes people will sign up. But you must understand where the best downline team members come from. They are people you develop relationships with. They could live next door, in the next state or even farther away. The key is to build that relationship. These will be your key leaders. In order to succeed in your Network Marketing business, you must develop leaders. So how do you start?
You start by deciding you are not going to hide behind your Attraction Marketing System. You have MLM leads, and you will step out from behind the system and call them. It is the first step in lead conversion.
Once you make contact, what is the first thing you do? Do you tell them in exquisite detail about your wonderful MLM opportunity; do you talk about how no one else in the world has a product like yours; do you talk about the amazing ground floor opportunity they were fortunate enough to run into; do you mention that there is no other compensation on the planet that is as good as this one; and do you say that they better get in while they can?
I hope you don't do any of that stuff. I hope you take the last paragraph as a list of things NOT to do. If anything will send those leads scurrying back to where they came from, it is those things. Remember what the key to Attraction Marketing is. It is the fact that you represent a solution to these peoples' problems. Shouldn't you find out what that problem is? Shouldn't you try to relate to these people on a personal level? Don't pitch, talk. Ask questions. Make them see that you have been where they are. Your first priority is to help them understand how the system can put them on the road to solving their problems. If they are seriously looking at MLM, it is definitely a way to help them solve their problems. If they are not sure, be understanding. No one is sure right off the bat. Ask them how you can help them make up their mind. Be sure they understand that whichever way they go, it is OK with you. Also make sure they have evaluated the Attraction Marketing System in detail. It is not possible to make a good decision with incomplete information.
This is a good first step when talking with your MLM leads. Obviously, there is more to it than this. A good Attraction Marketing System will have the resources to help you learn the process so you are comfortable with it.

How to Blog - It's Simple

Blogs are like personal telephone calls crossed with newspapers. They're the perfect tool for sharing your favorite chocolate mousse recipe with friends--or for upholding the basic tenets of democracy by letting the public know that a corrupt government official has been paying off your boss.
If you blog, there are no guarantees you'll attract a readership of thousands. But at least a few readers will find your blog, and they may be the people you'd least want or expect. These include potential or current employers, coworkers, and professional colleagues; your neighbors; your spouse or partner; your family; and anyone else curious enough to type your name, email address or screen name into Google or Feedster and click a few links.
The point is that anyone can eventually find your blog if your real identity is tied to it in some way. And there may be consequences. Family members may be shocked or upset when they read your uncensored thoughts. A potential boss may think twice about hiring you. But these concerns shouldn't stop you from writing. Instead, they should inspire you to keep your blog private, or accessible only to certain trusted people.
Here we offer a few simple precautions to help you maintain control of your personal privacy so that you can express yourself without facing unjust retaliation. If followed correctly, these protections can save you from embarrassment or just plain weirdness in front of your friends and coworkers.
Blog Anonymously
The best way to blog and still preserve some privacy is to do it anonymously. But being anonymous isn't as easy as you might think.
Let's say you want to start a blog about your terrible work environment but you don't want to risk your boss or colleagues discovering that you're writing about them. You'll want to consider how to anonymize every possible detail about your situation. And you may also want to use one of several technologies that make it hard for anyone to trace the blog back to you.

Forum Marketing - How to Build Good Forum Relationships

Forum marketing is a very popular way affiliates promote their websites or blogs. Promoting on forums can be a great way to drive free traffic to your site, so you can introduce your product to interested people. Before you start promoting on a forum, you need to know how to go about it. Building a good relationship with a forum community is essential. So, if you are thinking of using forums as a source to promote your website, make sure you know how to go about it and get started.
Forums are a community of sorts. Think of them as your neighborhood and the people on them are your neighbors. A forum is a gathering place where people come together to discuss certain topics of interest. There is most likely a forum out there for every niche possible. You can use these forums to get information, ask questions, make new friends, and of course promote yourself. You don't want to sign up at a forum site and just start promoting. There are certain unwritten rules that you should follow when you join a forum.
Like I said earlier, a forum is a community. The people who belong to them are a network. They know one another and are trusting of each other. So, it would not be a good idea to just join the forum and start bombarding it with your links for promotion.
3 Steps for Establishing Yourself in a Forum Community
1. Register and Look Around
Once you have found a forum geared toward your specific niche. Go ahead and register an account for yourself. Then, you should set up your personal profile. You should take a few days to look around the forum before you start posting. Get a feel for the forum. Browse the posts, learn about some of the other members, and get yourself familiar with the written rules.
2. Start Posting (Slow and Easy)
You can go ahead and start posting after you have seen how your particular forum operates. But, don't over do it with posts. You don't want to be seen as a spammer. Spammers bombard forums with irrelevant posts, so that they will get link exposure. You want people to take you seriously, so again, don't over do it!
3. Build a Respectful Reputation
Since you have started posting on your chosen forum. You want to continue to post good and relevant posts. Don't expect people to automatically think you are an expert, show them. Help people with their questions and answer them as thoroughly and as best you can. You will get more clicks on your link, as you gain respect in your forum community.
Creating relevant and valuable posts to your forum is necessary. You should not post a bunch of "I Agrees!" Don't expect to establish a good reputation doing that. You need to provide valuable information to your forum.here are several different ways to post on your forum. First, and foremost. You should post an introduction. Introducing yourself to your forum community. Also, when there are other new people who have joined the forum, you can post to their introduction and welcome them.
When posting questions, don't ask questions that you can easily find answers to on a search engine. You should post thoughtful questions. When answering questions on your forum, give as much information as you can. Don't post uninformative answers, as they are not going to be very helpful. When someone else has already posted a good informative answer to someones question, you can always comment on their answer and add valuable insight. Once again, you should not just post "I Agree!"
Once you have spent a few days or even weeks establishing yourself in your forum community, as a valuable, trusting member. You should be able to start dropping your signature link at the end of your posts. All forums are different when it comes to posting a signature link. Some, let you include a link immediately. Some, will require you to post a certain number of messages first. Then there are ones that require you to be an active member for a specific period of time. Make sure you read all the forum rules, so you know when to start adding your signature link.
Building good relationships and establishing a good reputation in your forum community first is KEY! Getting clicks on your link will follow. So go get started.

The Biggest Mistakes Yellow Page Advertisers Make and How to Avoid Them

Many of my clients try yellow page advertising with the idea that it will bring them a lot of money. They really don't know how much or how to gage the results. They were told when they started their business that they need to advertise. That's the extent of their expertise.
Many business owners have an unrealistic idea of the power of advertising. They think that shelling out a few hundred dollars a month will bring them thousands and thousands of dollars in return. The ones who treat advertising like a genie in a lamp usually get burned and bitter. There are others who treat advertising like farmers who grow wheat. They carefully tend to be conservative and careful in their choice of promotional efforts and pay close attention to the results. They are the ones who will see lasting results.
So what is it that the knuckleheads do that I consider so heinous? Here are the 5 biggest mistakes:
  1. They create mixed messages on the same ad. They want to write the Magna Carta on a six inch ad. They will stuff the kitchen sink into that ad because they are too cheap to scale properly.
  2. They want to appeal to everyone and their mother. They are all over the map when deciding who they are appealing to. If you are in a hurry to get a plumber to fix your pipes, you want a plumber who is fast and reliable; and you want them at a price you can afford that day.
  3. They will advertise in the book for the year and switch to another form of advertising without rhyme or reason. All the folks who got used to seeing the ad but weren't ready to use the service now will focus on someone else next year and forget about them.
  4. In hopes of saving some money and playing it safe, they advertise in the same size, shape and style as every other competing ad on that page. The classic is the eight of a page ad. Yellow Page sales people love those guys because they can just call them up when it's time to renew and get the signature later. The business person has no idea if the ad is working just that it's a pretty reasonable cost and everybody else is doing the same thing; so it must be a good one.
  5. The vanity ad that really says nothing to the folks who need what the company is selling. They see a beautiful glossy ad in a magazine and have a double truck and a couple of half pages done in various headings. The next year they have to justify the expense of all that beautiful art and realize that it didn't pull in enough business to buy a cup of coffee. These folks mistook a branding / marketing piece for a direct advertising piece. They are two different animals.
The reason most businesses fail to get great results from their Yellow Page ads is simply because they wait for a sales person to show up to decide what they want to accomplish. The right way to do it of course is to create your marketing plan at the beginning of the year and
